Early winter morning view of Loch Morlich, in the Cairngorms National Park, Scotland. This was a very early start leaving Edinburgh at 4am. The Loch was so still without a breath of wind. This image was taken just before the sun popped over the mountains. I didn't think I was going to capture anything special when I first arrived, as the cloud was quite thick, but when the light began to increase, I started to realise I was going to be able to create something really interesting before the sun crested the peaks.
As a freelance commercial photographer I have over 20 years of experience in design and advertising photography. However these images are primarily from personal projects and testing, always trying to push myself and learn new techniques. Every day is a school day. I initially came from a fine art background so I try to bring elements of this to each new project.
